The Patrick Wild Centre have recently been awarded funding to conduct a pilot study in people with fragile X syndrome of an intervention called Cogmed which is designed to improve a particular type of memory, called working memory.

It is thought that working memory is particularly affected in people with fragile X syndrome, but it is not known whether interventions to improve working memory are useful or even possible in affected people.  We hope that this study will be a step towards answering these questions.

The study will be funded by the Baily Thomas Charitable Fund and we hope to begin in mid 2015.
