The Helen Maude Garfit fund has been recently established at the University of Edinburgh to support research into Fragile X Syndrome and Fragile X Associated Tremor Ataxia Syndrome (FXTAS) through the Patrick Wild Centre. The fund has been set up by Maude Brownlie, granddaughter of Helen Maude Garfit. Maude herself is a sufferer of FXTAS and grandmother to two boys with Fragile X Syndrome.
The launch of the fund is to be marked by a Clay Pigeon Shoot and Lunch on Sun 4th Sept 2011 at Braidwood Sporting Clays in the Scottish Borders. Tickets are £150 each.
