Dr Lindsay Mizen is delighted to have received funding from the Baily Thomas Charitable Trust to undertake a further study about sleep in SYNGAP1. It will include using equipment that sits in the bedroom and records sleep remotely without physically attaching to the participant. We know that people with SYNGAP1 can find research too overwhelming or distressing which may mean that previous research doesn’t reflect the whole SYNGAP1 population. We are keen to link in with a small group of families who have these sorts of worries about being involved in research to try and shape the study together to make it accessible to as many people with SYNGAP1 as possible. If you are interested in having a chat about this, please contact lmizen@ed.ac.uk or come and find her at the SYNGAP1 Family Day in Manchester in November.
